Friendship....

One song can spark a moment ?
One flower can wake the dream ?
One tree can start a forest ?
One bird can herald spring ?
One smile begins a friendship ?
One handclasp lifts a soul ?
One star can guide a ship at sea ?
One word can frame the goal ?
One vote can change a nation ?
One sunbeam lights a room ?
One candle wipes out darkness ?
One laugh will conquer gloom ?
One step must start each journey ?
One word must start each prayer ?
One hope will raise our spirits ?
One touch can show you care ?
One voice can speak with wisdom ?
One heart can know what's true ?
One life can make the difference ?
You see, IT'S UP TO YOU! ?
one word can make frendship...

I rise

You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I’ll rise.
Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
‘Cause I walk like I’ve got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.
Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I’ll rise.
Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops.
Weakened by my soulful cries.
Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don’t you take it awful hard
‘Cause I laugh like I’ve got gold mines
Diggin’ in my own back yard.
You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I’ll rise.
Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I’ve got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?
Out of the huts of history’s shame
I rise
Up from a past that’s rooted in pain
I rise
I’m a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
I rise
Into a daybreak that’s wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
I rise
I rise
I rise.

Before the child is born

A mother's love begins
Before the child is born
And lasts through time
And difficulties
And differences
And many wounds
And days of joy
And days of sorrow
Winding, wearing
Weeping, sharing
Changing
Until, at the end
What remains
Is that solid core
That began as love
Before the child was born

Inspired By A Friend

When you find a friend
Nobody needs to say
You feel it in your heart
In a special way

Things may be hurting somehow
Your friend will try to help
And ask you how
It means a lot right now

The beauty of a friend
Is just to know
they'll embrace you
Unafraid to let caring show

And if you need a hand to hold
they'll hold yours tightly
and won't let go
Until the sun does show

I found a friend in you
in a way we easily feel and show
Kindness and hope you bring
I just wish you could truly know

We'll carry this friendship with us now
Wherever we should go
Because friendship is a feeling in the heart
Too precious to let go

A person visited the government matchmaker for marriage, SDU, and
requested “I am looking for a spouse. Please help me to find a
suitable one.” The SDU officer said, “Your requirements, please.” “Oh,
good looking, polite, humorous , sporty, knowledgeable, good in
singing and dancing. Willing to accompany me the whole day at home
during my leisure hour, if I don’t go out. Telling me interesting stories when I
need companion for conversation and be silent when I want to rest.”
The officer listened carefully and replied, “I understand you need
television.”

There is a saying that a perfect match can only be found between a
blind wife and a deaf husband ,because the blind wife cannot see the
faults of the husband and the deaf husband cannot hear the nagging of
the wife.

Many couples are blind and deaf at the courting stage and
dream of perpetual perfect relationship. Unfortunately, when the
excitement of love wears off, they wake up and discover that marriage
is not a bed of roses. The nightmare begins.
The two little boys, ages10 and 14, are excessively mischievous.

They are always getting into trouble and their parents know if any mischief occurs in their town, the two boys are probably involved.

The boys’ mother heard that a preacher in town had been successful in disciplining children, so she asked if he would speak with her boys. The preacher agreed, but he asked to see them individually.

The mother sent the 10 year old in the morning, with the older boy to see the preacher in the afternoon. The preacher, a huge man with a deep booming voice, sat the younger boy down and asked him sternly, “Do you know where God is, son?”

The boy’s mouth dropped open, but he made no response, sitting there wide-eyed with his mouth hanging open. So the preacher repeated the question in an even sterner tone, “Where is God?!

Again, the boy made no attempt to answer. The preacher raised his voice even more and shook his finger in the boy’s face and bellowed, “WHERE is GOD?!”

The boy screamed & bolted from the room, ran directly home & dove into his closet, slamming the door behind him. When his older brother found him in the closet, he asked, “What happened?”

The younger brother, gasping for breath, replied, “We are in BIG trouble this time!”
“GOD is missing, and they think WE did it!”

In loving memory of my Dad...........

"I cry when I think of him. But even though he's gone, Daddy still teaches me. He has left me his dignity, family values, love and honor. He encourages me to be strong and to be the best me I can be. He reminds me of all the memories we made and reminds me of his kindness and courage. I know he hears me when I thank him for making me the person I am today. I thank him for all he gave me while he was alive and for all he continues to give me from heaven. I miss him more than I ever thought I could miss anyone. I will carry on for you Daddy and I will make you proud. I will live like you did and keep the things you believed in sacred within me. I'm always listening to you from up above. I know you're watching down on me."

Love you Dad.......

You never said you're leaving
You never said goodbye
You were gone before I knew it,
And only God knew why.

A million times I needed you,
A million times I cried.
If love alone could have saved you,
You never would have died.

In life I loved you dearly
In death I love you still
In my heart you hold a place,
That nobody could ever fill.

It broke my heart to lose you,
But you didn't go alone
For part of me went with you,
The day God took you home.

Love You
Dad

Be thankful for all of the positive women in your life,

One of God's greatest creations is that of a woman.
She is an awesome example of radiance, magnificence
And stunning beauty
elegance and confidence that only she can convey.

The world would be an empty place of existence
Without the touch of a woman…
Who would mend your first broken heart?
Who would chase your fears away?
The world is a much better place
Because of a woman's true inner being…
One of courage, determination and that of pure grace.

Be thankful for all of the positive women in your life,
For somewhere along the way …
They prayed for you-
Stayed when others left you-
Comforted you-
Held on when no one else believed in you-
Took pride in you-
Never lied to you-
Respected and protected you-
Nurtured and never forsake you-

Who could not love, honor and respect
A person who would give their all to you?
Let us honor all women not just on this day, but every day-
For some woman, somewhere has loved, honored and respected you …

Why not thank Him for one of his greatest creations?
For if it were not in His divine plan and some woman's caring heart-
There would be no you or I,
So, why not thank God for women? .
She is your mother, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt or friend-
Always manifesting

Mother.....

When you were born you looked up into your mother's eyes with curiosity and fright. As she held you and rocked you, the feeling of fright disappeared and it was then that you first experienced that wonderful feeling of love.
If there were no Mothers...
There would be no one to cross me safely across the street,
No one to give me lollipops,
No one to wipe away the tears when I fall and scrape my knee.
There would be no one to sit by my bedside when I am not feeling well,
No one to help shield me from pain and disappointment.
There would be no one to give me hugs and kisses.
There would be no one to give me unconditional love,
And tell me that everything will be okay.
There would be no one to talk to
And discuss the joys and sorrows of living in this painful world.
No one to get advice from.
There would be no one to love!

Mothers are very special people.
They put their lives on hold to perform the most difficult and thankless job.
My mother is the person I respect most in this world
And I cannot imagine living in a world without my Mommy!
I LOVE YOU MOM!

Dreams....

Dreams are made of
Wishes from the heart,
Some are granted
Some are not.
Take time to dream
A dream or two,
Take time to make
Those dreams come true.
Special dreams for you
Or for me,
Hold them close
For someday they may be.
Without these dreams
Would we try,
To reach our goals,
To soar so high?
Dreams are made of
Wishes from the heart,
Some are granted
Some fall apart.
But keep on dreaming
Those dreams for you,
Because you never know
Which dreams just may come true.

The World Around You Is A Reflection...

The good you find in others, is in you too.
The faults you find in others, are your faults as well.

After all, to recognize something you must know it.
The possibilities you see in others,
Are possible for you as well.

The beauty you see around you, is your beauty.
The world around you is a reflection,
A mirror showing you the person you are.

To change your world, you must change yourself.
To blame and complain will only make matters worse.
Whatever you care about, is your responsibility.
What you see in others, shows you yourself.

See the best in others, and you will be your best.
Give to others, and you give to yourself.
Appreciate beauty, and you will be beautiful.
Admire creativity, and you will be creative.

Love, and you will be loved.
Seek to understand, and you will be understood.
Listen, and your voice will be heard.
Teach, and you will learn.

Show your best face to the mirror,
And you'll be happy with the face looking back at you.

What Are You Going To Choose.......

I choose to be me,
I choose to be unique in every sphere of life.
The moment you don't know who you are,
Then you have a misplaced identity.

In everything you want to do,
Have the ability to differentiate between right and wrong.
It shows you will be able to stand up for something,
If you can't, you'll fall for everything.

Make many friends,
But choose the ones that will follow you up the ladder of success.
Life's path is just too tough for mediocres,
You have to be more than a mediocre to stay on top of your game.

Sometimes, things don't go the way we want them to.
That doesn't mean God is asleep,
It does mean he has a better idea.

People may not exactly remember
What you did or what you said,
But they will always remember how you made them feel.

A Bit Of Wisdom......

Do not look in books for instructions on how to live your life. By doing so you will only end up following someone else's road. Look only inside yourself. You must trust your own voice, think with your own mind, follow your own heart, and believe in your own dreams. Only you know what you need or what is good for you. You can only survive and succeed when you are true to yourself and not to the opinions of others.

Do not look at life through the eyes of someone else; do not end up second-guessing your own thoughts and feelings in the false believe that others are automatically wiser than you are. Trust your self, listen to your heart, chart your own course, be your own North Star and be what the Great Spirit intended you to be - one of a kind.

Little Brains........

Once in period of Moral science I asked my class to write notes to God.
Here are some of the notes the children handed in:

Dear God:
I didn't think orange went with purple until I saw the sunset You made on Tuesday. That was cool.

Dear God:
Instead of letting people die and having to make new ones, why don't You just keep the ones You have?

Dear God:
If You watch me in Temple  onTuesday, I'll show You my new shoes.

Dear God:
I bet it is very hard for You to love all of everybody in the whole world. There are only 4 people in our family and I'm having a hard time loving all of them.

Dear God:
In school they told us what You do. Who does it when You're on vacation?

Dear God:
Are You really invisible or is it just a trick?

Dear God:
Is it true my father won't get in Heaven if he uses his bowling words in the house?

Dear God:
Did You mean for the Giraffe to look like that or was it an accident?

Dear God:
Who draws the lines around the countries?

Dear God:
I went to this wedding and they kissed right in the church. Is that okay?

Dear God:
Did You really mean "do unto others as they do unto you"? Because if You did, then I'm going to get my brother good.

Dear God:
Thank You for the baby brother, but what I prayed for was a puppy.

Dear God:
Please send me a pony. I never asked for anything before. You can look it up.

Dear God:
I want to be just like my Daddy when I get big, but not with so much hair all over.

Dear God:
You don't have to worry about me; I always look both ways.

Dear God:
I think about You sometimes, even when I'm not praying.

Dear God:
Of all the people who work for You I like my mother and father the most.

Dear God:
My brother told me about being born, but it doesn't sound right. They're just kidding, aren't they?

Dear God:
I would like to live 1000 years..Can I?

Dear God:
We read Thomas Edison made light. But my mom said You did it. So, I bet he stole Your idea.

What I want to be.............................................

This is how I want to live it. It may not be how I live, but it is the way I want to live. I want to live my life in such a way that it will be remembered. I want to leave an impression on everyone I come in contact with.

I want to be open and honest with everyone, to be remembered by my actions. I want to lead my life in such a way that I can be respected. I want to live my life so I can be an example for others. I want to aspire for greatness but never be famous. I want to live sure of myself. If I doubt myself, others will too. I want to live my life in such a way so that in the future I won't regret my past.

I want to believe in myself. I want to capture the strength I have deep inside. I want to believe in tomorrow and what it might bring. I want to be able to trust and in turn be trusted.

I want to begin every day thinking this is the beginning of a new day. I can waste it or use it for good. What I do today is important because I am using a day of my life for it. When tomorrow comes, today will be gone forever leaving in its place, something I traded for it.

I want to be a friend to everyone. I want to always have a dream. I want to be remembered for the good I did in my life. People won't remember what I said, people won't remember what I did, but they will always remember how I made them feel.

"I shall pass through this world, but once. Any good therefore that I can show, to any human being, let me do it now for I shall never pass this way again."

Shree Bhagwad Geeta

An old Farmer lived on a farm in the mountains with his young grandson.

Each morning Grandpa was up early sitting at the kitchen table reading his Bhagavat Geeta. His grandson wanted to be just like him and tried to imitate him in every way he could.

One day the grandson asked, "Grandpa! I try to read the Bhagavat Geeta just like you but I don't understand it, and what I do understand I forget as soon as I close the book. What good does reading the Bhagavat Geeta do?"

The Grandfather quietly turned from putting coal in the stove and replied, "Take this coal basket down to the river and bring me back a basket of water."

The boy did as he was told, but all the water leaked out before he got back to the house. The grandfather laughed and said, "You'll have to move a little faster next time", and sent him back to the river with the basket to try again.

This time the boy ran faster, but again the basket was empty before he returned home. Out of breath, he told his grandfather that it was impossible to carry water in a basket, and he went to get a bucket instead.

The old man said," I don't want a bucket of water; I want a basket of water. You're just not trying hard enough", and he went out the door to watch the boy try again.

At this point, the boy knew it was impossible, but he wanted to show his grandfather that even if he ran as fast as he could, the water would leak out before he got back to the house.

The boy again dipped the basket into river and ran hard, but when he reached his grandfather the basket was again empty. Out of breath, he said, "See Grandpa, it's useless!"

"So you think it is useless?" The old man said. "Look at the basket."

The boy looked at the basket and for the first time realized that the basket was different. It had been transformed from a dirty old coal basket and was now clean, inside and out.

"Son, that's what happens when you read the Bhagavat Geeta. You might not understand or remember everything, but when you read it, you will be changed, inside and out. That is the work of Krishna in our lives."
